MarketDirect Fulfillment products can be enable for kitting, which allows administrators to group individual Fulfillment products into a single kit product. For example, a Fulfillment warehouse may specialize in selling books, manuals, and manuscripts. Although, these item are sold as a single product to the buyer, they are stored in the warehouse as different products, or sub-components, such as a front cover, back cover, and pages. These sub-components are assembled into a Fulfillment kit product, like a manual, and shipped to the customer. When a buyer places an order for a Fulfillment kit product, they are purchasing a single product which is fulfilled like any other FF-Inventory product. This guide follows the administrative process of creating a Fulfillment kit product and tracking the assembly of it in the warehouse.
Important: The Default
Shipping Method for Kitting Orders setting
on the Print Shop
page must be configured before administrators can assemble a kit product.
This setting determines the delivery method dedicated to orders generated
by MarketDirect StoreFront
when a kit is requested for assembly. You can create a new delivery method
such as Kit Assembly or choose an existing one.
